Dear friends, correspondents, and family,
My dad passed quietly away tonight. For those who don't know, he was diagnosed with liver cancer in March. He has been rapidly going down hill the last couple weeks. Vickie and I were there yesterday and today. We left this afternoon with him resting comfortably after just having his bath and shave from the Hospice worker. He was never in any great pain, and did not suffer. He is being directly cremated, and we will be having a memorial service this Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Martinsville, details not known at this time. Memorials can be made to Hospice of Wilkes County. More later.
